GoTo Youth Service
GoTo is our mental health support service for young people aged 14-18 in South Lanarkshire, in collaboration with Regen:FX.
GoTo is an early intervention, community wellness service carefully designed to address the issues that cause poor mental health in vulnerable young people. Our trauma-informed Youth Workers and CBT Counsellors, who are trained in a range of specialist areas, develop a therapeutic alliance with every young person, allowing them to explore sensitive personal issues within the safety of a professional, welcoming, non-clinical and youth-focused environment.
The aim of GoTo is to empower young people to focus on their strengths, helping them to improve their confidence and self-esteem, while also developing resilience and coping skills. Our blended approach provides the young person with choice of 3 levels of engagement:
Youth Work Interventions (Level 1)
- Volunteering
- Teambuilding
- Performing arts classes
- Active Citizenship
- Youth Leader & Peer Mentoring training courses
Psychosocial Interventions (Level 2)
- Stress management
- Mindfulness
- Psychosocial education
- Training (including coping skills and social skills)
- Harm reduction
- Relapse prevention
- Topic-specific group work
Level 3: Counselling and Psychological Therapies (Level 3)
- One-to-one counselling
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
- CBT groupwork programmes (e.g., anxiety / stress / depression / emotional regulation)
- Psychological therapies
The three levels of our GoTo service offer a menu of options for the young person to improve their physical, mental, and emotional health. Level 3 therapies can complement any elements from Level 1 or 2, allowing the young person to engage in all three at once if they wish.
